Pathshala

The Education Center with 10 classrooms and teachers’ lounge serves about 450 students from toddler to adult level (total 9 levels). JSMC Pathshala (religious class) is one of the oldest Pathshala in USA and one of the largest one outside of India. More than 40 dedicated teachers from local membership uses JAINA Education curriculum and educates JSMC students every 1^st and 3^rd Sunday of the month.  For details on Pathshala curriculum and books visit here.

Jain Youth Forum of Chicago (JYFC)

JYFC is a part of JSMC focusing on all the youth related activities. To cultivate Jain values in a fun environment, throughout the year, there are many activities being planned including Lock-in, Ski trip, Youth convention, cultural events, etc. 

To actively participate and lead any youth events, send your input to youth@myjsmc.org. 

Membership

By becoming a member, you will be making a positive contribution to the local Jain community and ensuring that the future generation will continue to learn about Jain heritage.  In addition you will also enjoy discounts on JSMC sponsored programs and subscription to newsletter.

Family Life membership: 

Age 18 to 60 years- $401,  Age 60+ years - $101

Note that the Children of family members lose their membership privileges consequent upon marriage or attainment of 27 years of age, or whichever occurs first.  As your children fall in to one of these categories, please encourage their consideration in becoming life member(s) to continue enjoying the benefits of JSMC life membership.

Community Rental

The Community hall is equipped with state of the art theatrical stage with curtains and high-tech lights and sound system. Next to stage are two green rooms and several meeting rooms. This multipurpose hall can accommodate about 1500 people in theater style seating and about 800 in banquet style seating.

40,000 sq. ft. lower level has a specious kitchen, and large dining area. Kitchen is fully equipped to make meals for about 2000 people. Dining area with expanded space can comfortably accommodate 1200 people at a time. Religious education center has nine classrooms.  This community area is available for private functions on a donation basis for various occasions like marriage, Garaba, musical evening, drama, cultural programs, conventions, exhibitions, vendor fair etc.

Religeous Services

Some of the main religious events celebrated throughout the year are – Paryushan, Dash Lakshana, Mahavir Jayanti, Shrimad Rajchandra Day, Temple Anniversary, and Diwali. Also, there are many daily, weekly, and monthly religious activities such as Bhavana, Snatra pooja, etc. performed on regular basis. All these event and special poojas are announced through newsletter and on website.
